Meet: Scott
Before Covid, Scott Martinez signed up to take Brian Peterson’s Faces of Anaheim painting class at Vineyard Church Anaheim. Scott was a unique student because instead of painting a neighbor experiencing homelessness, Scott painted a self-portrait because he was residing in the local shelter.
Scott: This painting symbolizes what I've come to see in myself, and what some fail to see; polished and refracting light. I was brought to this place on my knees with newfound purpose. It is greater than I could've previously imagined. I hope to use what I've acquired, the good with the bad, all of my past, to inspire positive growth in all I come in contact with in the future. I aspire to one day be self-sustainable, paint for a living and live out the rest of my days like a kid... that pays bills.
