James Burms joined the Faces of Anaheim painting class as a resident living in a local Anaheim shelter. James has dreams of using his art to help others, and decided to paint a self portrait to hone his painting skill set. Along the way, James went on a journey of learning to see himself through God’s eyes. As he painted, he processed God’s love, while realizing the grace that’s been made available to him. In his eyes, there’s hope, and a yearning for a fresh start and new future. James learned to see himself as a new creation.
