Meet: Darcie

This is Darcie, a mother of four. She is thoughtful and always seems to notice what other people around her need. She is a lover of unicorns and romance novels. She once pursued creating wedding photo albums as a career. As I painted Darcie I felt God saying that she is His beautiful bride. She loves romance and God has always been romancing her. That she is like a beautiful diamond, multifaceted, colorful, and highly VALUED by Him, even when she has not seen it or felt it. She has always loved God but has questioned many of the hardships that she has had to endure. She grew up with parents that were using drugs, although her mother is clean and they live happily together now. At a young age, she started having severe medical problems and intense surgeries. Into her adulthood, she had her children taken from her and she still cries and misses them to this day. She has a beautiful mother's heart and you can feel the love and pain she experienced.
She missed the reveal of this portrait because she is currently recovering from a surgery that has had her bedridden for a few months. She has been in a shelter with her mother for years and they are just months away from moving out into their own apartment. Darcie will need medical equipment and her own room.
