Meet: COREY

During the Faces of Anaheim project, Corey was living in Anaheim's local Bridges shelter. Full of life and hope, Corey has been contending to right the wrongs of his past for the last few years. He started with an extensive tattoo removal process, removing many of the markings from his face and neck that reminded him of negative past times. In addition, Corey is a new father, and working diligently to complete programs to help regain custody of his children. Day to day, his prayers are focused around his fatherhood, and being reconnected as a family with his wife and children. In Corey's painting, there's intention in his eyes. Through color and light, Suzanne beautifully captured the hope and belief that there's no barrier too high for Corey to overcome.
